Gurshabad Prachar Sabha is organising a summer camp in different areas of the city with the help of various gurdwara committees for the personality development of children.
During these camps, children will be motivated towards meditation on daily basis. They are being taught the ‘Panj Bania’ and religious hymns of Sikhism.
“Besides, the children are apprised of the importance of ‘Paath’ (religious recitation) in order to connect them with their roots,” said Amarjit Anand, one of the founding members of the Gurshabad Prachar Sabha.
He said: “As many as 1,000 children from across the district are participating in the camp. High-grade barcode attendance system is available to ensure full attendance. The camp commenced on June 1 and will continue till June 23.”
Anand said the camp commenced from Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Adarsh Nagar, and then it was organised at Gurudwara GTB Nagar. Presently it is underway at Gurudwara, Urban Estate Phase II.
He said: “An enthusiasm is being witnessed among the children and their parents. The activities at the camp are being organised by the students themselves.”
