Today was the fourth and last day of the Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Pratiyogita. The baronial competitions of junior and senior category rounded off today.
The day started with the lamp-lighting ceremony where members of the Mahasabha Tarun Sharma, Mahesh Dixit and Sangat Ram, along with judges, were present.
‘Shree Harivallabh’ Vandana was presented by Devi Sahay Sanatan Dharam Senior Secondary School which was prepared by the in charge of Shree Harivallabh Sangeet Academy Ajay Kant Gupta. The percussion category Pratiyogita, continuing from last night, started today again with the percussion participants. The winners of percussion (tabla) were Tanay Sudhan Rege from Maharashtra who played rupak taal winning the first prize of Rs 3,100, whereas Mansa Singh from Jalandhar played Teen taal winning second prize of Rs 2,100 and Manoj Subhash Deshmukh from Maharashtra played jhap taal, getting the third position.
After this percussion marvellous competition, (tabla) Pakhawaj competition started with five competitors.
The judges of the competition were Dr Sumiti Chakrobity, Gautam Pal and the third judge was Munish Trikha with Dr Beas Kalyan on the tabulation table.
Chautaal, a taal of 12 beats, remained common in this category. The winners of the competition were Krushna Salikaram Salunke from Pune, who won first prize, whereas Phapal Ganesh Babruvan, again from Pune, won the second prize and Deshmukh Mahesh Desai won the third prize.
Members of the Mahasabha president Purnima Beri, general secretary Deepak Bali, director SS Ajimal, treasurer Rakesh Dada, among others, were present on the occasion. The second segment of the day started with the non-percussion category in which nine participants participated.
Kalyan Majumdar from Kolkata played sitar and won first prize, whereas Surpriya Seen daughter of Jalandhar-based sitarist Pt Manu seen from Jalandhar played santoor, got the second position. Harvansh Singh from Amritsar played violin and got the third prize.
From tomorrow, the sangeet sammelan shall start wherein great music maestros shall be performing. The event will be telecast live on the YouTube channel for the first time.
