Hockey: DAV beat Delhi school

In the ongoing 14th All India Balwant Singh Kapur Memorial School Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Burlton Park, DAV Collegiate School trounced the government school, Ghatorni, New Delhi, 16-0. Meanwhile, the government school, Mohali, beat Baba Gurmukh Singh Uttam Singh School, Khadoor Sahib, 4-1 on the second day of the event.
The match played between Malwa School, Ludhiana, and Shaheed Bishen Singh School, New Delhi, ended in a draw. In the match held between DAV and New Delhi, Simranjit Singh scored three goals. Sudharshan scored four goals and Sandeep Singh and Baljit Singh scored two goals each.
Later, single goal each was scored by Germanjit Singh, Kirandeep Singh, Gurpal Singh and Ramandeep Singh.
In another match, players from Mohali including Ramandeep Singh, Prateek Sharma, Rahul and the captain of the team, Sharanjit Singh, scored single goal each while the lone goal from the opponents was scored by Balkar Singh. Olympian Sanjeev Kumar, Olympian Baljt Singh Saini, Olympian Mukhbain Singh and Satbir Singh graced the occasion as the chief guests today.
Members of the organising committee, including Gundeep Singh Kapur, Manmohan Singh Kapur, Harbhajan Singh Kapur and Hardeep Singh Kapur were present.
