To commemorate the golden Jubilee year of the Border Security Force (BSF), a ‘horse safari’ was organised in the BSF Punjab Frontier area. The aim of the safari is to establish rapport with the border population by showcasing ethos and glory of the BSF as ‘The Sentinels of Border’.
Anil Paliwal, Inspector-General, BSF, Punjab Frontier, flagged off the horse safari from the BSF Frontier headquarters in Jalandhar in the presence of Eapen PV, DIG, Sector HQ, BSF, Abohar, and other officers, subordinate officers and jawans at the Battalion Headquarters, 129 Bn BSF, Rampura. The expedition comprises 12 horses.
The safari starting from Bn HQ 129 Bn BSF, Rampura, Punjab, will pass through border villages and towns of Sector HQ, Abohar, Ferozepur and Amritsar and will culminate at JCP Attari on October 15.
Officials said the expedition was aimed at building a positive image of the BSF and to promote the spirit of adventure and enterprise among the population, particularly youth in the country. It would also motivate and inspire the youth in particular and the public in general. It would also create awareness among the border population about BSF duties and its hardships and promote a sense of security among the border population of the country.
