Human Rights Day
Shiv Jyoti Public School celebrated Human Rights Day on its premises under the guidance of principal Dr Ravi Suta. The objective was to make the students aware of the rights that a human being can avail as an individual. Divya Saini of Class VIII recited a poem related to the day. Manju Soni in her ‘Teacher’s Talk’ told the students that the Constitution had provided people with certain rights like Right to Freedom, Right to Equality and Right to Education among others.
Annual prize distribution
An annual extravaganza-cum-prize distribution function was organised at Seth Hukam Chand S.D Public Senior Secondary School, Sangal Sohal, Variana, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar. Satinder Pal Singh, SSP, Vigilance, Jalandhar, and Ranjana Singh presided over the function. Joint secretary Seth Pritam Chand Budhia, assistant manager Parveen Dada, vice-president Vinod Dada, member of managing committee Kamal Budhia, Satish Dada and principals of various institutions Manish Bahri and Heena Arora were present. Principal Manju Arora and the managing committee presented a floral welcome to the chief guest. She also read out the annual report of the school in academics, sports and other achievements. A string of cultural performances like expressions, tap the toes, ‘Chak Dhoom Dhoom’, ‘Zindadil’ were presented with different themes and messages. The chief guest appreciated the talent of students and also gave away prizes to the deserving students in academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
Awareness about rights
The Human Rights forum of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated international Human Rights Day on December 10. Students made a human chain to create awareness about human rights. Principal Dr Kiran Arora said awareness about rights, particularly women rights, was very essential. To give human rights education, a UGC-sponsored certificate course is also there in the college.
Science exhibition
CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition was inaugurated on Friday by Chander Mohan, president, Arya Shiksha Mandal and Dr Atima Sharma, manager, Sanskriti KMV School. With a welcome note by principal Rachna Monga, the programme commenced highlighting the mega science event consecutively for the third time. In all, 101 schools from Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Chandigarh are participating, with 324 students and 162 Models in the categories — health, nutrition and cleanliness, resource management, industry, agriculture and food
safety, disaster management, mathematics for a quality Life.
The jury panel for the exhibition comprises of intellectuals and experts from renowned educational leagues. School teams from far off places presented their models showing the strong innovativeness for research and urge to think ahead on new lines towards environment conservation, resources management and analytical skills through static and dynamic models. Sanskriti KMV School team presented two exhibits. Chander Mohan, president, Arya Shiksha Mandal, during his interaction with the guest school teams, appreciated the model presentations. Dr Atima Sharma, manager, Sanskriti KMV School, wished the teams for their best efforts. Rachna Monga, principal, Sanskrit KMV School, thanked the CBSE authorities for their continued faith in the school.
