Jalandhar, July 1
The rural police today claimed to have solved the murder mystery of Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Pattar Kalan village near Maqsudan, by arresting his wife Palwinder Kaur and four others on Wednesday.
The police said Palwinder Kaur was having illicit relations with Gurdeep Singh, alias Sonu, a resident of Lakhan khurd village in Kapurthala, from the last one year. Kuldeep came to know about it and used to fight with his wife over the issue.
Following this, Palwinder along with Gurdeep made a plan to eliminate him. Under the plan, she took Kuldeep and her two children to a relative’s house to Amritsar. Later, on their way to Jalandhar, she kept informing Gurdeep and his other three associates about their location.
As soon as they reached at the outskirts of their village, Gurdeep Singh along with his friends, Jagjit Singh, Jatinder Singh and Sukhchain Singh, stopped Kuldeep and shot him. Kuldeep died on the spot. While the police have arrested four accused, Sukhchain is still absconding.
Later, she went to the police station and registered a murder and robbery case against unidentified people who apart from killing her husband also took away Rs 18,000. The police have recovered a pistol with 10 live cartridges and two motorcycles. They have registered a case under Sections 302 and 394 and Section 25/54/59 of the Arms Act at Maqsudan police station.
