INTUC to protest govt’s labour policies

The working committee meeting of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Punjab, was organised here. The working committee meeting was presided over by Punjab INTUC president Dr Subhash Sharma.

Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh will address the rally.

Presidents and general secretaries from every district of Punjab attended the meeting. Consensually it was decided to hold a rally of Punjab INTUC on March 6 at Zirakpur which will witness the gathering of more than 35,000 members.

While addressing the meeting, Dr Subhash said, “Present government in the state and Centre are framing policies which are against the rights of labourer and favoring the capitalists. To raise our voice against these policies and to strongly present our demand before the government, this rally will prove to be historic.”

He said Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh along with all-India president of INTUC Dr Sanjeeva Reddy, AICC general secretary Dr Shakeel Ahmed and other senior leaders of Indian National Congress will address the rally.” Present on the occasion were Sukhdev Singh, Balbir Singh, Davinder Singh Jaura, Swaran Singh, Amrik Singh Gill, Inderjeet Singh and Manhar Arora.
