The Jalandhar Cricket Academy will reopen on May 5. The academy was closed due to renovation and is all set to reopen to cater to players for this session.
Jalandhar District Cricket Association secretary Surjit Rai said the academy would soon conduct an inter-school cricket league tournament for JDCA Trophy. “This is happening after a gap of many years,” he added. He said an inter-academy tournament (U-19) boys has begun in the academy.
The academy has produced a number of international players like Rajinder Singh Ghai, Vikram Rathour, Harbhajan Singh, Mandeep Singh and Rahul Sharma. Also, Rishab Bhagat too got selected for the Indian cricket team (U-19) which played against the touring England team.
