Taking cognizance of the soldiers being martyred on borders and naxal affected areas, city-lad Ishan Agarwal has made a drone that would not only help in surveillance and security but would also be capable of killing the terrorists. After completing his B Tech from DAVIET College, Ishan, a resident of Charanjitpura, always thought of doing something for the nation.

While explaining the specifications of his drone named “Foton I” he said, “This drone could be placed twenty four hours for surveillance. With the help of this drone, the location of terrorists could be detected within the minimum range of one km.

After detecting the location, signals would be sent to the ground control system ( GCS ) that would inform about the infiltration. Further, within no time another weapon-loaded drone could be set in action, that would kill the terrorists right at their location. The weapon loaded drone has the capability to cover 7-8 km within five minutes.

Idea drawn from MIT software

Ishan said, “While I was studying about the technical aspects of drones, I got to know about the software made by student of US-based Massachusetts Institute Of Technology ( MIT). This software was used to check the efficiency of my model and later after conducting the software drone design test, it was found that my model was 96 percent accurate.” Moreover, he said, America was also using the same software to make its drones.

After getting the nod from the senior defence officials, Ishan approached the state government for its practical test but he didn’t receive any response. Then he approached officials of defence department of Gujrat Government and next month he would present the model before them.

Features of 'Foton I' drone

  • This small-sized drone can reach up to a height of 5-8 km.
  • The fighter drone can carry weight up to 12 kg and US-based highly accurate gun could be placed in it.
  • This small size drone can reach up to a height of 5-8 km, escaping enemies eye.
  • Noiseless propulsion propellers are also used to reduce its mechanical sound up to 3 decibles, that is nearly inaudible.
  • The software being used to design the drone has been found to be 96% accurate by Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
