Jalandhar, December 13
The wait of the fans of star comedian Kapil Sharma, who got married in the wee hours today, to view his live videos on YouTube as per his commitment ended this evening when his Anand Karaj ceremony was aired.
The YouTube channel showed the couple performing Anand Karaj as per the Sikh rituals in the front open verandah at Ginni’s place in Hardev Nagar. Kapil is seen clad in a white and golden sherwani with a dark pink turban. His bride Ginni too was seen in dark pink heavily embroidered traditional lehnga, but surprisingly, behind a dupatta, acting as veil, covering half her face.
All those who saw Kapil yesterday could not digest the fact that the comedy king could sit so quietly and without action. Nonetheless, even the raagi jatha performing the Anand Karaj commented in the midst of the ceremony, “Ehnan nu serious vekh ke kuchh hor tarah lag reha (it sounds strange seeing Kapil sit in such a serious mood)”.
The response to the ceremony was so high that within a few hours of the video going viral on Kapil’s YouTube channel Kapil Sharma K9, it got several thousands of views, shares and comments. The fans had been waiting for the YouTube streaming as Kapil had got released two promos on it with the tagline, ‘Poore India ko aana hai’. A decked up Mercedes car remained parked outside her house till late this evening for the doli to be taken to Amritsar.
Meanwhile, celebrities across the country have been congratulating Kapil on his wedding on the social media. One of the invitees, Jalandhar-based cricketer Harbhajan Singh and his actress wife Geeta Basra, posted on Twitter this morning that they would attend his reception in Mumbai on December 24.
