Sultanpur Lodhi, Nov 7
In view of the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev being organised by the state government in Sultanpur Lodhi, Gurmat sangeet samagam, kirtan darbar and kavishari were held in the main pandal on the third consecutive day.
Jatha of Bhai Baljit Singh Namdhari ‘Delhi Wale’ recited Gurmat sangeet, Bhai Sukhjinder Singh Hazoori Raagi Darbar Sahib and Dr Inderpreet Kaur recited kirtan. Prof Manjit Singh, former Jathedar of Takhat Shri Kesgarh Sahib, performed gurbani katha. Besides, Bhai Nishan Singh, Bhai Balwant Singh, Harjit Singh and Bhai Satinderpal Singh also performed kirtan.
Winner students of Punjab School Education Board competitions also presented recitations on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev. Raminderjit Singh, Deputy Director (Open School), Punjab School Education Board, said Harmanpreet Singh and his team from Government Senior Secondary School, Maari Buchian (Gurdaspur), Amandeep Singh and his team from Baba Jaswant Singh Senior Secondary School, Raunta (Moga), performed Kavishari. Paramjit Kaur and her group from Singh Sabha Girls School, Abohar (Fazilka), Raghav Sarangal from DAV School, Amritsar, performed vaars while Harmandeep Kaur from Bhai Ram Krishan Gurmat School, Patiala, Harinder Kaur from Sant Baba Natha Singh School, Amritsar, and Harjit Kaur from Senior Secondary School, Panjoli Kalan (Fatehgarh Sahib), presented speeches. — TNS
