The girl who fell from her school’s fourth floor under mysterious circumstances and suffered multiple injuries and fractures in her spine, today with full determination and strength appeared for her CBSE 10th standard board exam on stretcher here and says, “I have got a new life after the incident and a reason to live, all I will focus on now is positive things around me,” she said.

Despite going through a lot of trauma and mental instability, the 15-year-old is not disheartened and asked her parents to seek permission from the doctors to appear for the exam while she was also given a writer and an extra one hour to complete the paper as she fell unconscious many times in between.

It was her Hindi exam today at the KV-3 in Jalandhar Cantt and she went in an ambulance, escorted by her parents. Speaking to Jalandhar Tribune, Khushi’s father Naveen Gupta said, “Her doctor had initially advised against the strain of taking the exam. But she insisted on appearing for the exam because she did not want to have a gap in her studies. We have backed her since she was insistent that she would take the exam and she is prepared enough. We formally wrote to the CBSE intimating them about her condition. She has been allowed a helper (writer).”

Today, though she fell unconscious in between while appearing for the exam, but she somehow managed and later told that her exam was very good, he added.

Adding on he also informed that her daughter has been a hard working student all through and secured good results every time. Despite her condition, she insisted on fighting on and we are really proud of her courage and strength. What we are hoping for is that she appears successfully for all the exams. We are taking care of her health. In case she faces difficulty or her health deteriorates then we might rethink on the remaining exams but for now she has started preparing for her second exam of computer which is scheduled on March 8.”

Speaking on police investigation in the case Gupta said, “We are disappointed that even after two months of the incident the police has not made a single addition to the case. They had not investigated new facts nor had put those responsible behinds bars. It is leading to immense trauma for us as a family. And if the police do not initiate action, I will be forced to sit on a dharna seeking justice for my daughter.”
