Kiran Bedi asks students to run independent business

“As many as 10 million people come to the market every year asking for jobs in the country, these many new jobs have to be created,” said the BJP leader Kiran Bedi in her convocation address at PCM SD College for Women.
As many as 375 students were awarded degrees and diplomas by Kiran Bedi at the convocation programme.
Addressing the gathering she said instead of looking for jobs, students should come together and open up their own small or medium businesses. This way they could provide the jobs to the other needy people.
Kiran said there were banks like Mudra Bank that provides loan up to Rs 10 lakh to new-comers for medium and small scale businesses. Like-minded students must come forward in groups to start business.
Motivating the students to get engaged in volunteer work, she said the students must teach others who were unable to afford the education.
“We know that there is a shortage of schools. However, this must not hurt the education system,” Kiran said.
She called upon the management of the college to open the college infrastructure for the evening classes.
Speaking on the higher education system in the country, former IPS said there were many recognised educational institutes in the country, yet it lack good research work.
Kiran Bedi distributed 350 copies of comic book about her life titled ‘Kiran Bedi: Making of the Top Cop’. The book is written by Dr Reeta Peshawaria Menon and Anu Peshawaria.
