GNDU College, Ladowali Road, Jalandhar, organised an extension lecture on 'Cloud Computing and Big Data and Hadoop'. The patron of the seminar was Dr Gurvinder Singh, HOD, Computer Science, GNDU, Amritsar. Principal Dr Jaspal Singh Randhawa welcomed the guest. Dr Gurvinder Singh emphasised on how our education system needs to be updated for practical usage. He made the students aware of how the usage of mobile and tablets was increasing and has made the mobile data traffic increased manifolds. He then highlighted the use of cloud computing in order to decrease the investment of hardware required to run software.
Earth Day
In an effort to generate awareness in students towards Earth, Cambridge International School celebrated Earth Day on the school premises. It was a week-long celebration wherein various activities were conducted by the Science Department and the students participated wholeheartedly. The tiny-tots of the school prepared compost. They made handmade cutouts and even wrote slogans on it. Students mentioned their heartfelt wishes on them.—TNS
