Prime Minister of Lesotho Kingdom, Pakalitha Bethuel Mosisili, will be the chief guest during the fifth convocation of Lovely Professional University (LPU) to be held on October 31.
Over 12,000 regular and distance education students of the 2015 batch will receive degrees and diplomas. Mosisili will also honour gold medalists and toppers of various LPU academic programmes. On the same day, Honoris Causa doctorate degree of the Lovely Professional University will also be conferred on the Lesotho PM.
The 70-year-old Prime Minster is a former lecturer and a firm believer in democratic set-up in political arena. He had also served on different coveted ministerial positions in the past.
For bringing a great change, he is following the “Lesotho Secret” that is “in democracy people are always right, just like customers in a business; even they are wrong, they are still right”. The second-time serving Prime Minister, Pakalitha Bethuel Mosisili previously served from May 1998 to June 2012.
Lovely Professional University Chancellor Ashok Mittal said: “We invite great national and international personalities on the campus to inspire students. This is, indeed, a great honour for us as third time in a row a distinguished head of a country has accepted our invitation to be the chief guest at the Lovely Professional University convocation.”
During the two phases of the fifth convocation of the LPU, nearly 20,100 regular and distance education students will receive degrees and diplomas. Along with PhD scholars, 24 gold medallists and 173 toppers will also be honoured in both phases. The schedule of the second phase is yet to be announced.
