Looters take away Rs 2.5 lakh

Two unidentified youths today barged in a house at Mohalla Upplan in Sultanpur Lodhi and robbed a woman of gold jewellery, Rs 2.5 lakh in cash and a mobile phone.

Complainant Praveen Kumari said she was alone at her house when two youths knocked at the door around 2 pm and said that they had to give Rs 20,000 to her husband. She asked them to hand it over to her husband at his shop nearby.

Following this, one of the youths pushed the door hard and barged in along with his accomplice. The two tied her and took away the cash and other valuables. They also took her mobile phone after locking her in a room. She managed to come out of the room somehow and shouted for help but it was too late as the robbers had fled.

The victim informed the police following which SHO Sarabjit Singh reached the spot. A case has been registered. The police have found some keys and documents from the spot which is reported to be of the assailants. The police is hoping to crack the case soon.
