Jalandhar, February 9
Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) students have bagged first three positions in the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences in the 2015 batch MBBS results which have just been declared.
Barring the three top positions, PIMS students have bagged four distinctions in pathology, microbiology and forensics.
Simran Kaur Bath of the 2014 batch has also bagged a distinction in ENT and students of 2016 batch from the Gyan Sagar College shifted to PIMS remain on the first position. PIMS director principal Dr Kulbir Kaur expressed happiness at PIMS students bagging the top slots.
While Navjeevan Bhandal got 424 out of 550 marks bagging the top slot – also bagging distinction in pathology and microbiology. Navjeevan said he wanted to be a radiologist in the future. Sahil received 419 out of 550 marks bagging a distinction in forensics. Sagar Joshi remained on the third position by bagging 413 out of 550 marks. Sagar wants to be a physician. Meanwhile, Apoorva of the same batch also bagged a distinction in forensics. While Sahil wants to become a cardiologist, Apoorva said she wanted to be a neurologist.
The fifth spot was also bagged by a PIMS student Rajat – who said he wanted to be a physician. Students thanked their teachers for their support and guidance.
She said after the 2012 batch internship, five of the students of the institute have also been selected in the interview conducted by the Army Medical Corps. — TNS
