Members of All-India MES Admin Cadre and Ministerial Staff Association of Jalandhar branch are holding gate meetings in front of the headquarters of Chief Engineering in cantonment here since the past one week which will continue till October 14.

The clerical cadre of MES has been holding demonstrations over their demands, including cadre review, transfers, timely promotions and discontinuation of outsourcing of staff.

Chairman of Jalandhar branch Des Raj, vice-chairman Dinesh K Kakkar and branch secretary Arvinder Chauhan participated with the members and said that they would continue to protest till their demands were accepted. They said the cadre review, which was pending for over

24 years, could help in rapid promotions and strengthening of administrative wing.
