Minister urges people to follow ideals of Valmiki

Punjab SC, BC and Minority Welfare Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot exhorted people to follow the path and ideals of Valmiki in their lives.

Addressing a gathering during the shobha yatra organised here to mark the parkash utsav of Valmiki here on Tuesday, the minister said Valmiki Maharaj was the first poet or the Adi Kavi of the world who by his immortal and masterpiece composition- The Ramayana, propagated the message of victory of good over evil.

Dharamsot also said the great epic has from centuries taught the way of life to the people and has been a lighthouse of the ethical and moral living for the people. He also paid tribute to the victims of Amritsar train mishap and appealed to the people to pray before almighty to give strength to their families.

Lauding the efforts made by the city Valmiki Sabha to organise the shobha yatra, the minister said such endeavours not only helped in disseminating the philosophy of Valmiki Maharaj for carving out a harmonious society, but also acted as a lighthouse to guide the destiny of our youth through the great ethical and moral values preached by him

Speaking on the occasion Lok Sabha Member Chaudhary Santokh Singh, MLAs Sushil Kumar Rinku, Rajinder Beri, Mayor Jagdish Raj Raja also greeted the people on the parkash utsav.
