Minor road mishap leads to clash between lawyers, car dealers

Following a minor road mishap involving the cars of a lawyer and car dealer here today, two advocates were injured and had to be hospitalised.
Meanwhile, there was tension erupted as both parties sat on a dharna near the passport office and demanded an FIR against each other.
It was only after DCP Rajinder Singh assured strict action against the car dealer that lawyers were pacified and lifted the dharna. Lawyers had also raised slogans against the police. After lifting the dharna near the passport office, they again reportedly sat on a dharna nearthe court complex.
BJP leader Sheetal Angural also came from the car dealers’ side and made arguments with police officials for not taking action against the lawyers.
DCP Rajinder Singh, ADCP HS Mander, ADCP Paramjit Singh, ACP DD Sharma, ACP Tejbir Singh and SHOs from all the police stations had reached the spot to pacify the protesters. The car dealers had also reportedly misbehaved with the police officials.
Lawyer Sandeep Thaper said he, along with his son Abhishek, was heading towards the court complex in their Chevrolet Cruze car when a Swift car-borne man Ravinder Pal, who is a car dealer, rammed his car into his from the rear side. Later, the car dealer had arguments with him and called his aides. “In the meantime, my lawyer friend Tajinderpal also reached the spot. Several car dealers attacked us with an iron rod,” Thaper said. Lawyer Thaper and Tajinder were hospitalised after the incident.
The car dealers, on the other hand, alleged that the lawyers had also attacked them and injured their aides.
