NCC girls shine in drill competition

As a special initiative to develop the leadership skills and the ability of team spirit among cadets, the NCC Jalandhar Group organised an Inter-Battalion Drill Competition.

About 400 cadets from different battalions participated in the competition. Associate NCC Officers (ANO)s and staff members of the NCC Jalandhar Group joined the event.

Brig IMS Parmar, Group Commander, NCC Jalandhar Group, said the effort of the all-girls contingent of 2(girls) Bn NCC, Jalandhar, who lifted the title, was commendable.

During the event, many activities were organised in order to check the potential regarding the physical and mental ability of the cadets. There were 12 contingents, of which six participated in the drill and six in the guard of honour competition. Besides, there were five contingents of the junior cadets.

“The contingents were led by girl cadets showcasing the development of women power and the ability of girls to excel if given the opportunity and right environment,” Parmar said.

Delivering the competition address, Group Commander, Brigadier IMS Parmar also congratulated the cadets and appreciated the winners by honouring them with trophies and appreciation certificates. He also motivated them to join the defence forces for their future career and appear in the NDA and CDS exams so that each and every individual can get the golden chance to serve the nation.
