Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation (BAMSEF) and Bharat Mukti Morcha International president Waman Meshram has formed Bahujan Kranti Morcha (BKM) with an aim to bring the Dalits of the country at one platform. Khushi Ram, an IAS officer (retd), has been deputed to work in Punjab as state convener of the morcha. Khushi Ram, who, along with Gurmail Sandhu, vice-president, BKM, visited Maharashtra to assess the situation after Koregaon violence recently, said on Wednesday that hatred politics was behind the incident.
Currency garlands stolen
Nakodar: Currency garlands of Rs 3,25,000 were stolen from an embroidery shop, situated at Municipal Chowk, today morning. Surinder Kumar, owner of the shop, noticed the theft when he found the shutters of the shop broken. The police are investigating the matter.
Intoxicating powder seized
Nakodar: The police arrested four persons, Pal Singh, Amarjit Singh, Joginder Pal, all residents of Shankar village, and Sanjay of Sarih village and seized 195-gm of intoxicating powder from their possession today. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered.OC
Stolen vehicle seized
Nakodar: The police arrested Makhan Singh of Umrewal village and seized a stolen bike (PB-002-1480) from his possession today. A case under Sections 379 and 472 of the IPC has been registered.
