NGO to provide vocational training to adults with autism

The Durga Das School for Special Children at Kot Bazaar, Basti Sheikh, organised an event to observe the International Day of Persons with Disabilities here today. 

Institution’s trustee Kapil Gupta, Mahinder Gupta, president of the Federation of Neurotherapy Dr Ram Gopal and psychiatrist Dr Atul Madan attended the event.

Dr Gopal and Dr Madan interacted with parents and told them about the solutions to physical and mental ailments.

Children presented a cultural programme on the occasion. Members of the school staff, including Veena Dua, Jayanti Rajput, Poonam Gautam, Hitesh Vardhan, Sushma Arora and Jyoti, were also present at the event.

Meanwhile, volunteers of Soch, an NGO, presented boxes and bags made by them. They announced that they would impart vocational training to adults with autism. Officials of the NGO said a complete set up of a vocational room, computer area, kitchen and relaxation room would be provided for the training.

The NGO came into existence in December 2015. It started giving a shape to the work of its children by putting up the products made by them. — TNS
