Last year according to a social media survey, demonetisation was the most-talked about issue. Everywhere funny memes depicting images of Narendra Modi and his Cabinet were tweeted and shared.

The sufferings of people at bank queues had also become a major issue of the year. To add more spice to the Modi’s allegedly impromptu decision, a film called ‘Golak Bugni Bank te Batua’ under the banner of Rythm Boyz entertainment and Hayre Omjee studios is here to tickle the funny bone of cinegoers.

A full comedy talkie based on the repercussions of demonetisation is all set to give a fun shot to the audience. It’s a packet full of love, comedy and drama, said the team of the film that was in town on Tuesday.

The director of the film Kshitij Chaudhury said, “The demonstration had affected every individual of society, rich or poor. The title of the film also indicates how it had badly hit the golak (piggy bank) and batua (wallet) of the common man. Therefore, the movie is sending out a message that money can’t buy happiness and love is having a satirical twist of demonstration and writers have also written the dialogues by taking reference from the people’s inconvenience during the whole demonstration phase.

Actors Amrinder Gill, Harish Verma, Simi Chahal, BN Sharma, Anita Devgan, Jaswinder Bhalla and Gurshabad were accompanied by the director.

Lead actor Harish Verma said, “It is an unusual script. The character is quite close to real life and this will be another platform for me to show my real self.” The producers Karaj Gill and Talwinder Hayre said, “We are happy and enthusiastic about making a film which is actually very close to hard reality and truth of society with an important message.”
