Now, complain about wrongly parked vehicles on helpline

To ensure a hassle-free and smooth flow of traffic in the city, the Jalandhar Commissionerate has initiated the process of towing away of wrongly parked vehicles in the city area.

To fulfil the purpose, the traffic police of the Jalandhar City today launched a helpline number — 1073 to report wrongly parked vehicles.

The traffic police claimed that this would be strictly followed at a big level from January 4 onwards. The wrongly parked vehicles will be challaned and impounded as per rules. The process of towing away will be photographed and videographed to maintain records.

They said the owner of the vehicle would have to approach the traffic police station in case their vehicle had been towed away. Before a vehicle is towed away, a loud speaker announcement will be made to indicate that the vehicle is going to be taken away.
