Phagwara: A Canada-based Phagwara resident, Babita Mehta (43), was killed on the spot while four others sustained injuries when the car of a group of pilgrims, who were going to Jaipur from the Dera Baba Ali Ahmed Shah Ji Kadri Bhagatpura locality in Phagwara, met with an accident near Jhajjar (Haryana) on Friday. Dera chief Sewadar Baba Ashok Shah was driving the car. He lost control over the vehicle after which it collided with the road divider. The Injured were admitted to a nearby hospital. The body of the NRI woman was brought to Phagwara, said councillor Sarabjit Kaur. She will be cremated in Phagwara on Saturday. — OC
