Om Prakash Sharma is Dist Bar body head

Jalandhar, April 6

Om Prakash Sharma was elected the president of the District Bar Association here on Friday.

A total of 24 candidates were in the fray for various positions of the Bar association. Sharma got 954 votes, leaving behind Karampal Singh Gill and Kapil Batra with 272 and 122 votes, respectively.

NR Jassal was elected the senior vice-president by getting 722 votes and Varun Khanna the junior vice-president by getting 1,069 votes. Aditya Jain became the new secretary of the association by defeating Sandeep Kalia.

Kunal Goel became the joint secretary and Bhupnesh Mehta assistant secretary of the association.

Seven advocates were elected executive members who include Charanjeet Kaur Flora, Kiran Bala, Rajnish Kumar Sidhi, Rajinder Kaur Riya, Ramandeep, Sangeeta Rani and Satnam Suman. — TNS
