Orphanage inmates visit SARAS Mela

As many as 22 children from an orphanage, Children’s Home Colony Camp, today visited the SARAS Mela. The district administration provided them a free entry to the fair. They were also offered food of different states. Extending a goodwill gesture to them, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Harbir Singh gifted them woolen caps, keeping in view the approaching winters.

A food court is adding flavour to the mela through its mouth-watering delicacies from different states. Apart from the special platter of Rajasthani food items, dal-bati churma, missi roti, gatta vegetable, bajra roti, kare sangri vegetable, Jodhpuri mirchi vada, Jodhpuri mawa kachauri, onion kachauri, moong dal pudding, moong dal pakora, Bikaneri Kesariya Jalebi, Jalebi of Haryana has no competition. People also savoured Himachali food items such as Kangri dham, chana madhra, matar paneer madhra, Mandi’s famous Sepu Badi, were some other food items to delight the visitors.

Harbir Singh said on the orders of the Cabinet Minister Sunder Sham Arora, entry for women’s of any age group on October 30 at the Regional SARAS Mela will be absolutely free. He said women of any age group can visit SARAS Mela without any entry fee on Tuesday. Also, on October 31 entry for senior citizens above 65 years of age will be absolutely free.
