Paintings to depict Guru Nanak’s life events

As a tributes to the Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev, students of the department of architecture, CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur campus, have taken up the project of making 200 paintings that includes both large- scale and small-scale canvas paintings.

The paintings aim at covering famous life events of Guru Nanak Dev from the time of his birth and all Udasis-related episodes.

The architecture students, Harsimran, Aakash, Kulvir, Nikita, Kiran, Rainu, Anju, Arshdeep and Arun, along with faculty Harpreet and Gurpreet, have shown zeal to work on the project as sewa for the occasion.

Harsimran, one of the students working on a painting of Guru Nanak Dev, said: “We all are working on the project for the past four to five months now and are excited to showcase our paintings at the venue on the big day.”

Shruti H Kapur, head of the Department, said: “To understand teachings of the Guru, it became an interesting exercise for students as one way or the other every student, who is involved in this work, got to know about Guru Nanak and his teachings. For these young students, it also stood as a chance to swim deep in the religious ocean.”

Appreciating the efforts of the department institute, Manbir Singh, MD, CT Group, said: “This will be a lifetime opportunity for the students as they would be showcasing their works done for the occasion in Sultanpur Lodhi from November 1-12. The paintings will be helpful for pilgrims to understand the complete life journey of Baba Nanak in an easy way.”
