Phagwara MC finalises budget of Rs 35.79 crore

The Municipal Corporation (MCP) passed a budget for Rs 35.79 crore for financial year 2017-18 unanimously in the annual budget meeting of the corporation here today.

Mayor Arun Khosla chaired the meeting in the presence of Deputy Mayors Surinder Singh Walia and Ranjit Singh Khurana. MC Commissioner Davinder Singh and Assistant Commissioner Surjit Singh conducted the proceeding of the meeting which was attended by 48 out of 50 councilors. Phagwara MLA Som Prakash also took part in the meeting.

“The budget was passed within minutes, which means that no discussion was held on the proposed budget. It was prepared by MC officials and stamped by BJP-supported councilors and MLA Som Parkash,” the Mayor said. He also said that Rs 11.08 crore would be spent on development works of the town.
