Phagwara MC sanitation workers end strike

PHAGWARA: The indefinite strike of sanitation workers of the Municipal Corporation ended on the second day today after the intervention and assurance of MC Commissioner Bakhtawar Singh.

The indefinite strike of sanitation workers of the Municipal Corporation ended on the second day today after the intervention and assurance of MC Commissioner Bakhtawar Singh.

Earlier, the workers held a protest march in the town and sat on a dharna before the Municipal Corporation office. MC Commissioner Bakhtiar Singh reached the spot and assured the protesters that their demands would be accepted as soon as possible by the authorities concerned.

Safai union leaders Roshan Lal Sethi, Ashok Joga, Vishal Salhotra and Rakesh Kumar Bhatti while announcing to end the dharna said the Municipal Corporationadministration should fulfil its promises.
