PHD Chamber holds seminar on business legal affairs, consumer rights

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a seminar on “business legal affairs”, where advocate Anuj Mehta, district convener, BJP legal cell, provided members with detailed information on legal procedures relating to cheque bounce, Consumer Protection Act and Right to Information Act.
Ahsanul Haq, president, Jalandhar Management Association was the guest of honour at the meeting. Sanjeev Juneja, convener of the Jalandhar Chapter of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informed members about upcoming activities of the Chamber in Jalandhar. He said the procedures of courts for various Acts related to business and consumers had been simplified, but the business community was unaware of it and thus, tend to avoid legal proceedings due to lack of knowledge and suffer losses consequently.
Advocate Anuj Mehta said industrialists were unaware about many legal procedures pertaining to the Acts concerned. He also informed members about ‘lease deed’ and ‘rent deed’. Many other issues related to trade, legal issues, and consumer rights were also discussed.
