Police DAV Public School organised its annual day “Parwaaz”. As many as 750 students participated in the event. Punjab DGP Suresh Arora was the chief guest. The function started with invocation of goddess Saraswati, followed by welcome and year round-up by Dr Rashmi Vij, principal of the school. The chief guest gave away the prizes to students who had bagged top positions in academics and sports. In his address, he exhorted students to inculcate high moral values. In his address, ADGP Sanjeev Kalra lauded the efforts of the performers and their teachers. The function culminated with students, teachers and the principal holding placards in their hands to exhort people to join them in supporting women.
Annual day marked at Saffron Public School
Saffron Public School celebrated its 16th annual prize distribution function ‘Vasundhra’. Chaudhary Santokh Singh was the chief guest. School chairman Manmohan Singh, vice-chairman Inderjit Kaur, principal Sandeepa Sood and director Atul Sood along with NCC students and the school band welcomed the chief guest. Students put up an impressive dance performance. Principal Sandeepa Sood apprised parents of the glorious achievements of the school during the session 2015-16. The chief guest was presented a token of love. The evening had a flavour of culture, patriotism, fun and frolic as the students showed their talent through an amalgam of cultural items. The audience was enthralled by a marvellous musical performance by two international students Heiki and Miro from Finland.
HMV wins overall trophy at Doaba college festival
Students of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya won the overall trophy at Doaba Fest 2016 organised by Doaba College Jalandhar. Principal Ajay Sareen congratulated youth welfare advisor Jasbir Rishi, dean Navroop and co-dean Shama Sharma. She said the team of HMV won first prize in Sufi Kalam, ghazal, rangoli, phulkari, folk dance, clay modelling, cartooning, sketching, skit and mime; second prize in folk song, installation and landscape and third prize in debate, elocution, poetry, mimicry, still life painting, poster making and photography. Principal Sareen gave her best wishes to teachers and students of the youth welfare department of the college and encouraged them to achieve more heights in future.
Students win prizes in fest
Students of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya won 18 prizes in Doaba Youth Festival at Doaba College, Jalandhar. Students lifted first runners-up trophy for the college. Principal Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the team and teachers in charge of literary, fine arts, music, dance, theatre, phulkari, rangoli and choreography items and said such competitions and results boost the confidence of students.
