The department of psychology of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, organised a poster-making competition for undergraduate students. The motive of the venture was to enlighten students about ‘learning by doing’ in relation to diverse concepts, theories and therapies of psychology. Principal Dr Sucharita appreciated the efforts of the department. Taranpreet Kaur of BA stood first, followed by Vibhu and Anterpreet Kaur. Bhavneet got the consolation prize.
Workshop on finance
The department of management of KCL Institute of Management and Technology (KCL-IMT) organised a ‘workshop on financial planning’ in collaboration with Investor Awareness Division, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for the students of MBA, BBA and BCom (P). Dr HS Sidhu, former MD, Ludhiana and Delhi Stock Exchange and certified trainer SEBI, was the resource person. He was presented token of gratitude by Dr SK Sood, director, Dr Inderpal Singh, dean, research and Navjit Singh.
Science olympiad
Students of Class XI and Class XII of KMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School participated in the first level of the National Science Olympiad (NSO). More than 120 students participated in the test. Neha, Aakriti Thakur and Pallvi of Class XI and Parneet Kaur and Arshpreet Kaur of Class XII bagged gold medals. Komalpreet Kaur, Navdeep Kaur and Jasmine Saini of Class XI and Prabhjot Kaur and Harpreet Kaur of Class XII won silver medals. Simranjit Kaur, Priyanka Kumari and Lovedeep of Class XI and Harpreet Kaur and Navpreet Kaur of Class XII got bronze medals. Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated students for their remarkable achievement.
Show and tell activity
The tiny tots of KG I and KG II of INNOKIDS of Innocent Hearts, GMT, Loharan and Jandiala Road, showed their talent in ‘show and tell’ activity. They selected their favourite fruits, a car, kite, toys, water flower and the National Flag etc and spoke about them. The in charge, Gurmeet Kaur (GMT), Alka (Loharan), Neetika Kapoor, (Cantt Jandiala Road) appreciated their efforts. t Director principal Dheeraj Banati applauded the efforts.
