Proud to be part of film, says cast of Subedar Joginder Singh

Two days ahead of the release of biopic based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Subedar Joginder Singh, the star cast of the Gippy Grewal-starrer film visited the city for its promotion on Wednesday.

The film, directed by Simerjit Singh and written by National Award winner Raashid Rangrez, has a huge ensemble of star cast who will be seen gracing the screen in various pivotal roles. It features the youth icon of Punjab Gippy Grewal as Subedar Joginder Singh, Aditi Sharma as the leading woman who will be seen essaying the role of Subedar Joginder Singh’s wife- Gurdayal Kaur.

Producer Sumeet Singh, when asked how he felt about having produced this film, said, “This is not just a film, and it’s our deep-rooted history. I feel blessed to have got this opportunity to bring this brave warrior of the Sikh Regiment alive on the bring screen.”

While talking about the role Gippy Grewal said that his role in the movie was pretty challenging as he had to portray a very serious and sensitive role and simultaneously, he had to undergo a massive transformation by gaining substantial kilos to his body weight and then getting back to shape.

Kulwinder Billa and Rajvir Jawanda said, “It is a detailed story-line. The movie is supported by remarkable level of versatility and dedication. The various aspects of a soldier’s life have been brought in the broad light with much detailing that in all probability, the film is bound to become a ‘must-watch’ for all individuals.”

Aditi Sharma, while sharing her experiences quoted that, “It was one of the best experiences I could have had. Being a part of this movie has really a blessing for me.” The movie has been shot in the locations like Kargil and Dras, Rajasthan and Assam to maintain the authenticity of the project, the team shared.
