Prune blacklist of Sikhs: British MP

Phagwara: Indian-origin British MP, Virender Sharma, belonging to the British Labour Party, urged the Centre to prune the blacklist of Sikhs prepared after the Operation Bluestar in 1984.

Phagwara: Indian-origin British MP, Virender Sharma, belonging to the British Labour Party, urged the Centre to prune the blacklist of Sikhs prepared after the Operation Bluestar in 1984. He visited the Ramgarhia Institution, Dosanjh Kalan village and the City Club. He said several Sikhs had been waiting for the past 35 years to come to their native places in the state, but were deprived of a chance to visit the country due to the blacklist. His party would take up the issue with the Centre. He also advocated the release of arrested hardliners, who had been in jail for the past several years after 1984. — OC
