In the yesterday's late night incident in which a man running shops in the Inter-State Bus Terminal was found chained in a locked room in the building of Punjab Roadways Depot-1, various unions of Punjab roadways employees today declared open support in the favour of the General Manager Harjinder Singh Minhas and threatened that if police take any legal action against the manager, unions would resort to complete 'chakka jam' of Punjab roadways buses in the state.
The union turned the entire incident as farce and drama orchestrated by the Farhan Alam Sadiqui who owns shop no. 8, 9, 36 and 37 in the bus stand. Even General Manager of the Punjab Roadway Depot-1 has turned the entire incident as mere drama to press the department not to take possession of the shops.
Farhan's brother Rihan on Monday had filed a complaint in the Punjab and Haryana High Court that his brother was kept in house arrest by GM Roadways Minhas. Court then appointed a warrant officer who conducted raid at the roadways depot and found that Farhan was lying unconscious in a locked room at the depot. Farhan had yesterday told mediapersons that he was told by the GM to vacate all the shops as some Akali leader had taken contracts of the shops currently in his possession. He said he had then filed a case in court and court granted him stay.
