Jalandhar, July 6

Taking a serious note over the suicide of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation worker Ram Lubhaya, Punjab Schedule Caste Commission Chairman Rajesh Bagha today directed the Jalandhar police to take action against those who instigated him to commit suicide.

Unable to repay the loan and interest, Ram Lubhaya, who belongs to the SC community, committed suicide last month. In his suicide note he held financier responsible. The Karmchari Talmel Committee also submitted a memorandum to Rajesh Bagha demanding speedy action on the issue.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Rajinder Singh said, “A three-member committee will be constituted to investigate the matter.”
