The police today claimed to have solved the murder case of Raju Baba, who was killed on November 8 night in Jaswant Nagar.

The police arrested three persons who had reportedly killed Raju Baba after a minor feud over playing cricket. The accused were identified as Saurav (17), Utsav Srivastava (20) and Robin Atwal (22).

Area SHO Gagandeep Singh said the accused used to play cricket near the mazaar of Hazrat Baba Sariya Peer Qadri and their ball used to hit Raju Baba and his followers. It always annoyed him and his followers. On a number of occasions, Raju Baba and the accused exchanged heated arguments. The police said on November 8, there was fog and taking its advantage, the accused reportedly attacked Raju with knives and other sharp-edged weapons.

The police arrested the accused near the Dakoha railway crossing and recovered a scooter, silver ring and locket of Raju Baba from their possession. — TNS
