Deputy Commissioner (DC) Varinder Kumar Sharma has said Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test for Class VI admissions will be held on January 11, 2020 (Phase-1) and April 11, 2020 (Phase-2). Sharma said registration is being done through online portal on www.navodaya.gov.in and www.nvsadmissionclassix.in. He said the last date for filling of online application for both the tests is September 15.
More than 40 lakh students are expected to enrol themselves for appearing in the Navodaya Selection Tests for the 2020-21 session.
The DC, who is also chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee, exhorted people to optimally utilise this opportunity for their children as these co-educational schools, one of which is imparting education in Talwandi Madho village of the district, were operational in all the districts of the country and were equipped with separate hostel facilities for boys and girls.
The DC said these schools offer free education, boarding and lodging facilities for the students besides ensuring their holistic development through wide cultural exchange programme.
He said these schools, run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, were also equipped with the ultra modern computer labs to impart hi-end computer education to the students.
