Jalandhar, July 4
The Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI) party organised a state-level rally today at the Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall and took out a march in the city.
State secretary of the party Harkanwal Singh said the rally was held on the issue of increased power tariff, which was affecting lower and middle class families to a large extent. Members of the party also raised the issue of lack of water for irrigation and drinking purposes. They also took up issues of increasing incidents of snatching and drug abuse.
Members Rattan Singh Randhawa, Gurnam Singh Daud, Kulwant Singh Sandhu and Vijay Mishra said state-level meetings, conferences, flag marches and jago rallies would be held across the state from July 15 to 31.
They added that massive protests would be held in all district headquarters from August 5 to 9.
