The Saini community in Punjab today welcomed the state government’s decision to constitute the Punjab Saini Welfare Board and including in it the community’s backward class.
Addressing the media here today, they said the reservation would only be availed by weaker sections of their community while the creamy layer would voluntarily shed reservation benefits. Speaking on the occasion, board president Tarsem Saini said it had been a wonderful initiative taken by the Punjab government for the welfare of the community. The members also recalled the splendid history of the Saini community in the country.
