School watchman found murdered

The watchman of a private school, situated on the Jalandhar-Kapurthala road, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the school premises today.

According to the police, the victim had severe head injuries.

The victim was been identified as 25-year-old Kaka, a resident of Dilsar village in Jammu.

Station house officer, Sadar police station, Kapurthala, Hargurdev Singh, said Kaka was working as a watchman at Lawrence World Public School, situated near Punjab Technical University (PTU) on the Jalandhar-Kapurthala road. In day time, he was also working as a helper in a veterinary hospital.

Sources said this morning when Kaka failed to join duty at the veterinary hospital, hospital employees came to the school to enquire about him. When they peeped inside his room, they found him lying in a pool of blood. They immediately raised an alarm and informed the police and the owner of the school.

The police said Kaka seemed to have been hit by some sharp weapons. “We had thoroughly searched the spot but didn’t find any vital clue from the spot, which could take us to the killers. The mobile phone of the deceased has also been recovered from the spot. His call details would be scanned to identify the suspects,” the SHO added.

After sending the body for postmortem, a murder case was registered against unidentified accused at the Sadar police station.
