Jalandhar: Students of BCom (regular, semester VI) for the 2014-15 session of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, excelled in the exams whose results were declared by Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) recently. Kanchan topped the GNDU by securing 1,648 (78.47 per cent) marks. Shivani, Itinder Kaur, Heena Madan and Preeti secured 16th, 19th, 30th and 31st position, respectively, in the university. Principal, Dr Kiran Arora, congratulated the students for their achievement.
KMV students excel in varsity exams
Students of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, made the institution proud by securing top positions in exams, whose results were declared by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, recently. Satveer Kaur, a student of BSc (biotech-semester VI) secured first position in the university with 2,274/2,760 marks followed by Renu Trehan, a student of BA (honors school in English –semester VI), who bagged second position with 1,576/2,300 marks. Gurkiran of BCA (semester VI) also secured seventh position in the GNDU merit list with 1,815/2,300 marks followed by Priya Aggarwal, who bagged 21st position in the university with 1,756/2,300 marks. Principal of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (KMV), Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi, congratulated the students for their outstanding performance and motivated them to achieve success in their future. She also lauded teachers’ contribution as a mentor, which she said was important in shaping the career of a student.
ISA Award for DAV School
SRT DAV Public School, Bilga, was conferred with the ISA award at a ceremony organised by the British Council in New Delhi. The award was presented by Susan Doughlas, senior adviser, schools and society, British Council (UK). To bag this coveted award, the school worked on different international projects so that study could be associated with global learning. All international projects shown by the school got cent-per cent marks. The award was received by Principal Ravi Sharma along with ISA coordinator Riyu Joshi on behalf of the school. Representatives of the British Council specially came to India to confer the award. Regional director PP Sharma, school manager, Dr Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj and chairman Yaj Dev Tangri also congratulated him.
Induction programmeat Apeejay College
Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, organised an induction programme for new students of different courses for the new session on the campus here on Saturday. Students were familiarised with the code of conduct, the different dos and don’ts as well as the unique opportunities available only in the college.
