The Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall Committee today organised a seminar on growing jingoistic nationalism that has been causing adverse affects to the aura of bonhomie in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Apurvanand, Head of Hindi Department, Delhi University, said, "The rights of people, including freedom of religion, freedom of speech and expression, and democratic values are being suppressed terribly by the jingoistic nationalism in the country. The students are being charged with the sedition cases and basic rights of the people are being oppressed by the fascist ideologue."  He said, "The government in the Centre has been making tireless attempt to put idea of fascism into the minds of people and democratic values are being subjugating." Speaking on the Kashmir issue, he said every house hold in the Kashmir has been suffering. The Kashmiris seem to have no right to express their grief democratically.  He called upon the people get united against the same unless it's too late.  In the resolution, the committee demanded the hideout of the Bhagat Singh and his revolutionary comrades in Ferozpur to be given for setting up library and museum.  Darbara Singh Dhillon, Dr Parminder, Prof Wariam Singh, Kulvir Singh and Amolak Singh also spoke on the ocassion.—TNS
