Addressing mediapersons here today, Tarsem Singh Deol, council spokesperson and Harpal Singh Cheema of the Dal Khalsa, said the next generation of these communities had been deprived of education in the country. “These communities are subjected to sheer discrimination while going for admission in schools. They are not even considered as Sikhs in the census,” they added.
The council also said they had been working for the betterment of these communities since long and had constructed around 200 houses, gurdwaras and schools for them.
They urged the Panthic bodies to come forward to help these communities and make serious efforts to include these communities in the Sikh religion in the upcoming census.
