Jalandhar: Sanskriti KMV School held a slogan and poster- making competition under its ISA-project—‘Peace and Conflicts’. The competition was aimed at increasing  awareness about the increasing conflicts and the need of peace in the world among students. Principal Rachna Monga said such events helped in enhancing global harmony and should be arranged at regular intervals. TNS

Debate competition

Jalandhar: Mayor World School, conducted an ‘Inter-school Chairman’s Debate Competition, on Saturday. The theme of the competition was ‘Reservation – A boon  or bane for the development of Indian society’. Swami Sant Dass Public School, Phagwara, team represented by Akshit Kalra (XI) and Armaandeep Kaur (IX) got the second position in the competition. The winners were awarded certificates. Anju Mehta, the principal of the school, congratulated the winners. TNS

Karaoke competition 

Jalandhar: Students of Ivy World School participated in a Karaoke competition sponsored by LG. Rahul Sathi, branch head, LG, praised the singing talent of the participants.  Kashvi Madhok, bagged the first position while Parmeet Kaur clinched the second position. Consolation prizes were given to Manik Sharma and Tasheen Sawhney. Principal S Chauhan, congratulated the winners. TNS

Contests held

Jalandhar: Kite-flying, turban-tying, rangoli-making, painting and photography contests were held at Lyallpur Khalsa College of Engineering. Students who attained the first and second positions were awarded by Sukhbir Singh Chatha, Director, Academic Affairs, KCL group of Institutes. Sunny and Ramandeep Singh stood first in kite-flying. Davinder Singh won the turban-tying contest. Harmandeep and Kajal bagged prizes for rangoli contest. Varinder Singh won  the photography competition while Rajwant Hans won the  painting competition. Mobile bakery 

Jalandhar: CT Institute of Hotel Management (CTIHM) has launched a new project ‘Visual, Mobile Venture’ and merchandising of bakery products. The event was organised at CT Group’s Aryana Bakery. Students of The Department of Hotel Management made various bakery products. Dr Bharat Kapoor, Director, CTIHM, said bakery products like bagels, focassia, dinner roll, bookmaker sandwich, lava cake and variety of cookies triggered the taste buds of all. TNS

Inspire camp from today

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, will organise 8th five-day ‘Inspire Camp’ from January 30 to February 3. As many as 203 students of Class XI selected from 14 schools across the state will attend the camp. Lectures, interactions, physics, chemistry and maths workshops, quiz competitions as well as explorations will be held during the camp. TNS
