Though no one was arrested, the police managed to bring some respite to residents, especially in the Chandan Nagar area and Deen Dayal Upadhaya Nagar and also Sat Nagar where residents face harassment due to repeated eve-teasing incidents. According to SHO Navdeep Singh of Division No. 3, many more awareness drives like this will be conducted at regular intervals to curb the illegal activities happening in the area.

Residents had informed Jalandhar Tribune yesterday that the area, being highly prone to drugs and illicit liquor trade, youths, especially school children, were creating a lot of nuisance and were involved in many eve-teasing, chain snatching and over-speeding incidents.
