The star cast of the upcoming Punjabi movie ‘Band Vaaje’, visited the city today to promote the film that is going to hit the silver screen very soon. With an assurance of tickling the laughter bones of the audience, Binnu Dhillon, the lead actor in the film, said: “The movie is completely a fun and comedy and to deal with the laughter dose of the movie.”
Band Vaaje is the story of a Punjabi man Inder, who lives with his brother, sister-in-law and niece in London. While Inder returns to India to choose a bride for himself, he crosses path with a Pakistani girl whom he falls in love.
“But the task for him is to convince his grandmother who loves him but is an orthodox and hates Pakistanis,” he added. The trailer of the film has so far received 4.8 million views on YouTube.
The film features Binnu Dhillon, Mandy Takhar, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Jaswinder Bhalla in lead roles. Helmed by Smeep Kang and produced by Jatinder Shah, Pooja Gujral and Atul Bhalla.
The film has been directed by Smeep Kang and is written by Vaibhav and Shreya. Binnu Dhillon said Band Vaaje was a comedy film and all comic scenes are situational. The jokes are not just for the sake of punches.
Leading lady of the film, Mandy Takhar, said: “Making people laugh is the most difficult task. This is the first time I am performing comedy. I hope people will accept me in the same way as they have always done with my previous works.”
The director of the film Smeep Kang said: “Making films is my passion and adding comedy to it is like my hobby”. — TNS
