Star cast of the upcoming Punjabi movie ‘Munda Faridkotia’ visited the city today.

The film, directed by Mandeep Singh Chahal, has been releasing on June 14 worldwide by PTC Motion Pictures and Globe Moviez.

Playing the lead characters Roshan Prince, and Sharan Kaur said the movie was based on a satirical comedy plot.

The movie, produced under the banner of ‘Dalmora Films’, shows how the lead character struggles to survive when he accidentally lands into the Pakistan’s territory.

Roshan Prince said: “The character he plays lives in Faridkot. However, his mother is frustrated by his aimless lifestyle and gives him an ultimatum to emigrate to Canada.” “Disheartened with the ultimatum, he prays at a ‘Dargah’ to grant him one wish: to somehow let him remain in Faridkot. The next morning, he wakes up to find his wish granted but he finds out that he wakes in Pakistan,” he added.

Fearing that he’s from the other nation, this character pretends to be mute to stay away from difficulties.

He said I had a lot of fun playing the character and am glad that my entire team helped me in executing the role.

Sharan Kaur, a TV actress who’s making debut in Punjabi film said she underwent some transformations to fit into her character named, ‘Mariyam’.

She said I was required to gain weight and get my nose pierce. The best part was that I also got to learn speaking Punjabi with “Pothwari” accent, for which I underwent training.

Daljit Singh Thind, the producer of the film, and a silent producer earlier in Punjabi films said: “When Mandeep Singh Chahal (the director) narrated the script to me I find it so fresh and close to heart that I decided to be the producer of the film.”
